Consignor Referral Program:
You asked for it so here it is! Refer you friends, family, neighbors, even strangers to Coastal Kids Market Spring Sale and when they consign, YOUR registration fee will be WAIVED! The referred consignor has to be completely new to CKM (having never consigned at any of our previous sales) and consign at least 15 acceptable clothing items (not to include accessories, shoes, or toys). You will need to email us to let us know who you referred and also have the new consignor give us your name at drop off to make sure you get credit for your referral.

Consignor Drop-off:
You will select a time to drop off your items when you register. Bring your items on hangers in order by number, and a copy of your master list. Each consignor must bring their own items! Please do not have another consignor drop-off your items as they will need to be checked in and a waiver must be signed.

Consignors must pick up any unsold items after the sale dates are complete. Any leftover items not picked up will be donated to the Baptist Children’s Home in Baxley, Ga. Checks will be mailed to consignors within 2 weeks.

Don’t have time to enter and tag your items? Then our Busy Moms Tagging Service is just for you!

Just drop your items off with us and we will do the rest. Here’s how it works:

1. First, register as a consignor. Then contact us to let us know that you will be taking advantage of our tagging service and to arrange a time for us to pick them up. The deadline for us to receive your items is Wednesday, February 22nd. We will provide you with a consignor contract at the time we receive your items.

2. You can choose to donate or pick-up any unsold items after the sale. (Items that aren’t donated must be picked up at the regular pick up time after the sale. We cannot hold them and return them to you later.)

3. Consignors who use the Busy Moms Tagging Service will receive 50% of their items selling price, and a ticket to the Preview Party on February 29th 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The $8 consignor fee will be deducted from their final check.

4. Items must be clean and on hangers when we receive them. If the consignor does not provide hangers, 10 cents per item will be deducted from their final check to cover the cost of hangers.

5. Only items that meet the Accepted Items criteria found on the Consignor page of our website will be entered into the sale.

Tagging Instructions

      • First, go to the REGISTRATION PAGE of our website and register. Be sure to always login through the Consignor page on our website or you will be prompted for a print code.
      • Register as a consignor by Sunday, February 26th.. After this date our registration will be closed.
      • Sort all of your items by clothing, toys, equipment, etc. Regarding clothing, sort by gender and then size.
      • When sorting is completed, enter your items into the system. All of your items must be entered before the sale is locked at 6am on Monday, February 27th. Go to the tab, Enter Items. By sorting prior to entering, you will save a lot of time because you will only have to reenter the price and description for each similar item. You also can avoid using the mouse entirely by simply using the tab button, selecting the first letter of each entry in the drop downs and the enter key to add items.
      • Use only one unique tag with its own unique item number for each item to be sold (sellers cannot make copies of tags).
      • Make sure that the correct seller number is on each tag.
      • If you need to edit anything, go to the Manage Inventory screen. Here you can print inventory reports, mass edit items or individual items, and also see a Projected Settlement Report based on the items you have entered into the system.
      • Printing can be performed at anytime, at intervals or all at once when you finish entering your items. Please make sure that your tag paper consists of only light, pastel colors. No dark colors or multicolored or patterned paper. You must also use cardstock paper (at least 60# or 65# cardstock).
      • Once your tags are printed, make sure the bar-code is clear and is not excessively dark (use ‘normal’ setting when printing – NOT BEST quality), then cut on the lines and safety pin to left shoulder or right side if the clothing is facing you. When applying tape to the toys, equipment, etc. please do not put tape on the bar-code.
      • Expect final reconciliation of your items into your account by Wednesday, March 7th.

Tips for a Successful Sale

Presentation:
We suggest washing and pressing each piece in order to get top dollar! If you have an outfit with matching socks, bloomers, hair bows, etc. place the matching item in a Ziploc bag and attach it to the outfit’s hanger. Please indicate on the tag how many pieces are included in the outfit.

All clothing must be tagged on the upper right hand side (as you look at it) of the garment with a safety pin. No straight pins please! Tagging guns are also acceptable and may make tagging faster and easier. Hang each garment on a hanger with the hook opening to the left (making a question mark). Please do not fold pants and skirts over the hanger. It is best to safety pin each side of the waistband to the hanger. Two piece outfits can be tricky. Do not put pants or skirts inside of the shirt or it cannot be easily seen. Instead, safety pin the pants or skirt to the back of the shirt. A great way is to safety pin the waistband to the shoulders of the shirt making sure that the pin goes through the hanger so the weight is on the hanger not the clothing itself. A larger safety pin (2 inch) works best.

Pricing:
Everyone asks how to price. A good way to think about pricing is 1/3 to ½ of the original price depending on the condition of the item. For example, a home show item that cost $30 new would sell anywhere between $10 and $15. Smocked dresses and other dressy items generally sell well between $15 and $25. Remember, even though these are high end items, they are still used. Think about what you would be willing to pay for the item if you were the shopper. Price them to sell and you won’t be disappointed. Please round pricing to the nearest dollar (no $19.95 please).

Advertising:
We are going to great lengths to advertise this sale, and we need your help! If you would like to distribute postcards and/or posters advertising the sale at your school, day care, or place of business please contact us and we will get those to you! Remember, the more shoppers that come the more sales you can expect as a consignor.
