Volunteers who are NOT consignors must work one shift  prior to the Preview Party in order to receive a ticket to enter the Preview Party at 6pm, and two shifts in order to shop 1 hour prior to the Preview Party at 5pm.

Consignor Referral Program:
You asked for it so here it is! Refer you friends, family, neighbors, even strangers to Coastal Kids Market Spring Sale and when they consign, YOUR registration fee will be WAIVED! The referred consignor has to be completely new to CKM (having never consigned at any of our previous sales) and consign at least 10 acceptable clothing items (not to include accessories, shoes, or toys). You will need to email us to let us know who you referred and also have the new consignor give us your name at drop off to make sure you get credit for your referral.
Consignor Drop-off:
You will select a time to drop off your items when you register. Bring your items on hangers in size and gender groups, and you MUST bring a copy of your master list. Please try to delete or at least cross off items that you decide not to bring (because of a noted stain etc.) prior to drop off.  This will make drop off easier.  Each consignor must bring their own items! Please do not have another consignor drop-off your items as they will need to be checked in and a waiver must be signed.  If you do not choose a drop off time, please expect to have a longer wait as we will need to service consignors with a designated time first. If a consignor has more than 75 items, please do not choose the last drop off time!
Consignor Pick Up:
FORGOTTON OR MISSING ITEMS: Please refer to you Consignor Seller Agreement, located HERE, where CKM is not responsible for lost, stolen or missing items. If you are missing any other items, it is best that you claim it on your taxes as a donation. CKM does not hold onto or take any items home. We do our best at making sure items are not taken, and returned to the right owner, but several things can happen out of our control with hundreds of people attending such a huge event. This is why we need lots of volunteers to help make sure this does not happen. If anyone has accidently taken an item that was not their own, please just send an email with the information from the tags: ID#, Item#, Description. We will inform consignors if we get any emails.  In order to potentially  save time locating or identifying missing items,  please print and bring a copy of your SOLD item list at pick up.  This is located in same area where you print your master inventory sheet for drop off.  This will help identify items that may have lost it’s tag or accidently sorted into someone else’s items.

Checks will be mailed to consignors within 2 weeks.  Consignors must pick up any unsold items after the sale dates are complete. Any leftover items not picked up or if you choose to donate your items that do not sell will be donated to Effingham AFPAG (Adoptive and Foster Parent Association of Georgia). Visit their Facebook page HERE.  Sorry, but no items will be held.

Please do not be offended if we do not accept an item.  We have very high standards, as do our buyers. These guidelines are to  ensure a successful sale and to be fair to other Consignors and Shoppers. We reserve the right to reject any item if it is not up to the standards of our sale.

Here is a list (albeit not complete) of name brands that we DO and DO NOT accept.

Tagging Instructions

      • First, go to the REGISTRATION PAGE of our website and register. Be sure to always login through the Consignor page on our website or you will be prompted for a print code.
      • Register as a consignor by Monday,  at 6AM.  After this date and time, our registration will be closed.
      • Sort all of your items by clothing, toys, equipment, etc. Regarding clothing, sort by gender and then size.
      • When sorting is completed, enter your items into the system. All of your items must be entered BEFORE the sale is locked at Monday,  6AM. Go to the tab, Enter Items. By sorting prior to entering, you will save a lot of time because you will only have to reenter the price and description for each similar item. You also can avoid using the mouse entirely by simply using the tab button, selecting the first letter of each entry in the drop downs and the enter key to add items.
      • Use only one unique tag with its own unique item number for each item to be sold (sellers cannot make copies of tags).
      • Make sure that the correct seller number is on each tag.
      • If you need to edit anything, go to the Manage Inventory screen. Here you can print inventory reports, mass edit items or individual items, and also see a Projected Settlement Report based on the items you have entered into the system.
      • Printing can be performed at anytime, at intervals or all at once when you finish entering your items. Please make sure that your tag paper consists of only light, pastel colors. No dark colors or multicolored or patterned paper. You must also use CARD STOCK paper (at least 60# or 65# card stock).
      • Once your tags are printed, make sure the bar-code is clear and is not excessively dark (use ‘normal’ setting when printing – NOT BEST quality), then cut on the lines and safety pin to left shoulder or right side if the clothing is facing you. We highly encourage wire hangers.  Consignor item number is limited to 500. When applying tape to the toys, equipment, etc. please do not put tape on the bar-code.
      • Pick up will be Sunday,
      • Expect final reconciliation of your items into your account with in 5 business days from close of sale.

Tips for a Successful Sale

Presentation:
***NEW As of Spring 2017 sale – CKM is limiting the number of onesies to 8 per consignor unless they are attached to an outfit***
We suggest washing and pressing each piece in order to get top dollar! If you have an outfit with matching socks, bloomers, hair bows, etc. place the matching item in a Ziploc bag and attach it to the outfit’s hanger. Please indicate on the tag how many pieces are included in the outfit.

All clothing must be tagged on the upper right hand side (as you look at it) of the garment with a safety pin. No straight pins please! Tagging guns are also acceptable and may make tagging faster and easier. Hang each garment on a hanger with the hook opening to the left (making a question mark). Please do not fold pants and skirts over the hanger. It is best to safety pin each side of the waistband to the top of a hanger. Two piece outfits can be tricky. Do not put pants or skirts inside of the shirt where it cannot be easily seen. Instead, safety pin the pants or skirt to the back of the shirt. A great way is to safety pin the waistband to the shoulders of the shirt making sure that the pin goes around the hanger so the weight is on the hanger not the clothing itself. A larger safety pin (2 inch) works best.  We highly encourage wire hangers and larger safety pins.  You can sometimes find these at your local dry cleaners!

Pricing:
Everyone asks how to price. A good way to think about pricing is 1/4 to ½ of the original price depending on the condition of the item. For example, a home show item that cost $30 new would sell anywhere between $8 and $15. Smocked dresses and other dressy items generally sell well between $12 and $20. Remember, even though these are high end items, they are still used. Think about what you would be willing to pay for the item if you were the shopper. Price them to sell and you won’t be disappointed. Please round pricing to the nearest 1/2 dollar (no $19.95 please).

Advertising:
We are going to great lengths to advertise for each and every market, and we need your help! If you would like to distribute postcards and/or posters advertising the sale at your school, day care, or place of business please contact us and we will get those to you! Remember, the more shoppers that come the more sales you can expect as a consignor.
